Delaware marriage license guide
How to get a marriage license in Delaware
Delaware is the only US state where marriage licenses are issued by a Clerk of the Peace rather than a county clerk. Residents pay roughly $50-$70 and non-residents $100-$120 depending on county. A 24-hour waiting period applies (waivable by the clerk for good cause) and the license is valid for 30 days. Two witnesses are required. Delaware does not recognize common-law marriage.
