Florida marriage license guide

How to get a marriage license in Florida

Florida charges $86 standardly, reduced to about $61 if both parties complete a state-approved premarital course (which also waives the three-day waiting period for Florida residents). Non-residents have no waiting period either way. The license is valid for 60 days. No witnesses are statutorily required. Florida abolished common-law marriage in 1968 but recognizes those formed before January 1, 1968.
