Minnesota marriage license guide
How to get a marriage license in Minnesota
Minnesota eliminated its five-day waiting period in 2016 — licenses are issued same-day. The fee is $125, reduced to $40 if both parties complete at least 12 hours of state-approved premarital education. Valid for six months statewide regardless of which county issues. Two witnesses are required. Minnesota does not recognize common-law marriage.
