Missouri marriage license guide

How to get a marriage license in Missouri

Missouri eliminated its three-day waiting period — licenses are issued same-day by the Recorder of Deeds (not the county clerk) for $51. The license is valid for 30 days statewide. Two witnesses are required at the ceremony, and the officiant must return the signed license to the issuing Recorder within 15 days. Missouri abolished common-law marriage in 1921.
